Montessori Inspired Counting

Fall Harvest Numbers

Tongs, number plates, and fall harvest gem mix!

My twins enjoy this activity a lot. I can change out the manipulative, and even change the tongs to chopsticks or a spoon.  I have the number 1-50 number plates, so some days we do a bigger set of numbers.

Rainbow snow slime & backyard play

First we grew some water beads, then sorted them on the light table for some Montessori inspired Reggio Style fine motor! Then we made rainbow snow slime!!

We used 6 scoops of insta snow, dunecraft brand water marbles(water beads), a few drops of coconut extract, some water, and a large package of gobbledygoop by dunecraft, then mix!

As you can see we played with it inside, and also outside!!

Check out all our other awesome slime concoctions HERE!

We used an egglands best egg carton (cleaned),

DuneCraft Water Marbles(water beads) and measuring spoons/cups.

These are the measuring spoons and cups we use.

You can get the spoons HERE and the cups HERE

Little Scientists

Here are just a few highlights of some recent Science and Messy play in our backyard play environment! They played with water beads, slime,  combinations of flour, cornstarch, body wash, and shaving cream, flowers, fruit counters, mirrors, bottles, test tubes, pipettes, tongs,  various types of funnels and canning funnels, etc. all mixed up in various random ways.

This is very common outdoor play for them, but they really enjoy it and of course they had an awesome time as usual! You can see more posts like this by browsing our Science, Polymers, Slime, and Goo board on Pinterest!! Click HERE to view that board!
