Fine Motor with tubes and transparent counters

Super fine motor, so easy and simple too!!

All we used was the tube from that a Hexbug Nano comes in and some Transparent counters

My twins love to play with hexbug nano's, they use them in their car table, on the light table, on the overhead projector with magna tiles, and just about with anything! 

The tubes they come in happen to have a removable lid that has a slot in the top. I removed all of the labeling and realized soon enough that our transparent counters fit into them very nicely!! This makes such a GREAT fine motor activity!!  They enjoy it too!

We have a game called boggle jr that is a 1+ player game. I set it up for spelling practice pretty often. It is not a light table item but this time I set it up on the light table... with some light table letters.  I used a dollar tree chip and dip tray for the letter jewels..  What I had Graham and Parker do is pick a word from boggle jr. Use the big white letter dice to spell the word, then respell the word with the letter jewels in the tray. It went really well!!

They also did some designs on the light table with translucent pumpkins and acorns from Michael's  nesting window blocks, and they added in their hex bug nano's later.  

We built some cool things with magformers.. a ball and a house.

Graham and Parker have loved hexbug nano's for quite some time now. They get really creative in what they do with them. They put them on their step2 car and canyon table, inside of cabinets in their toy kitchen, on the light table, on the floor play tray, on their overhead projector, under blankets, on shelves, they build cages for them with blocks and magna tiles... and the list goes on. They have so much fun playing with them!!
